Beginners Hand and Power Tools 2 day, £250
This 2-day course is a practical beginners' course aimed at learners new to DIY. The course will enable learners to tackle repairs and make home improvements.
The 2 day course covers a more extensive use of all tools used in day one, in addition to using the skills to make an item to take home.
Using drills, hammer drills and cordless screwdrivers safely
Using Screws and Screwdrivers correctly
Selecting hammers and nails for the correct job
Screwing and fixing into brickwork and plasterboard and use of rawl plugs
Fixing brackets and shelving to walls
Using spiritual levels and squares effectively
Effective use of clamps
Using spanners, wrenches and pliers
Effective use of hand saws on wood metal and plastic
Using pipe and cable detectors effectively

General information for your visit.
You will be supplied with your own gloves and safety glasses (and mask if required), however feel free to bring your own if you prefer to wear them . We do not recommend that contact lenses are worn as the area is dusty.
You will need to wear sturdy shoes we also provide steel toe cap cloche to go over our shoes for added protection, for the duration of the course. We can supply boots at £20.00 if you need a pair. We stock sizes 3-13.
Please wear clothes suitable for dusty work, sensible shoes and bring your own lunch.
There are a variety of local shops and café's nearby if you wish to buy lunch or you can bring a packed lunch with you and eat it in our breakout area.
Tea and coffee are provided throughout the day.
